Seismic Exchange - Tobin WebViewer Help
-
A Java applet is required to use the WebViewer. The
first time that you visit the WebViewer site, approve the installation
of the Java program if you are prompted to do so.
-
When using the viewer, the basic toolbar buttons which
are the most useful are listed and shown below with a red arrow. Use the WebViewer toolbar, not the browser tool bar.

The most important buttons are the Refresh Map button, the navigation buttons

The Refresh Map button needs to be clicked after selecting
any new layers boxes.

interest.
-
After you have zoomed in to your area of interest, the
LINES layer box will open and will need to be checked to view 2D data.
The 3D layer box needs to be checked to view 3D data. To view Township/Ranges and
Sections the TOWNSHIPS_JEFF and SECTIONS_JEFF layers boxes need to be checked
when they appear open. To view Texas surveys the TX_GRANTEE and TX_SECTION layers boxes need to be checked
when they appear open.

Remember to click the Refresh Map button after
selecting any new layers boxes.

To determine the Latitude-Longitude of the center of
your area of interest, put the cursor at the center of your area of interest
and read the Latitude-Longitude at the lower left of the window. You can
then use this geocenter to request an automatically generated map from
SEI REQUEST 2D
and 3D MAP
- To extract shape file sets of SEI proprietary 2D (stick lines) and SEI proprietary 3D (outlines):
- Zoom in so that the red active layer box is visible. Double-click to change the active layer.
- Select 2D and/or 3D layers by clicking
the boxes, then click Refresh Map.
- Zoom and Pan to the map view that you want to extract shape files for.
- Do not select too large an area, as the large extracted file size will cause a slow download.
- Go to File - Extract. If a script error box pops up,
double-click Yes to continue.
- Select Shape File Extract and click Extract to Shape
File. The shape files will be zipped.
- If a pop-up with the zipped files does not appear,
turn off your browser's pop-up blocker and hold down the CTRL key.
- 2D lines will be in the LINES set, and 3D outlines
will be in the 3D set.
- The set names do not change on later selections, so
save them to a different folder.
-The projection of the shape file sets is
Geographic (latitude-longitude) NAD 27.
